Teach Yourself Violin
I want to learn to play the violin. Any suggestions on how to buy a violin, and how to teach yourself violin?
I would like learn to play the violin as a hobby, I do not want to pay someone to teach me yet, but I will start studying on my own. I wondered if I could get some advice on good self-teaching books / programs, and also get some advice on how to choose the right violin to buy. Any suggestions?? Thank you for a guide, you can give!
I took violin for a few years ago and all have told you – you really need a teacher. Although only a few lessons in the beginning – your intonation, fingering and bow teams will be crucial to your success and you do not want to pick up bad habits if you ever want to play with a group. Get a teacher! In order to get a violin, so I recommend renting one from a local shop a few months earlier. Would you go buy a car if you had never driven one before? Of course not. You would not know what a good car sounds like, handles, etc. should ride like. Same with a violin – before you make investment in a decent instrument you want to know what you're looking for. expect to pay up to $ 300 for a decent student instrument. Do not skimp on the – A cheap instrument will often be poorly constructed out of cheap materials that go out of tune early and often, and have cheap steel strings. This will only hinder your progress and serve to prevent you from place to inspire you. Get an instrument that will not hold you back. Do not buy one unless you can play it first, or, better still, have a person who plays well play it for you, so you know how good it can get. If there are no local shops, there are several online stores string that gives you a free trial period with the instruments, and even rent. Here is a good – I got my violin from them and I am very happy with it. http://www.stringworks.com Good luck!
